Progress in the face of a pandemic

We have all experienced a lot of change in the last few months, but we’re happy to say that Uplift Mid-MO has kept extremely busy during this time! We’re going to give a quick update on what’s been happening in our world:

Uplift Mid-MO Volunteers created and donated over 200 cloth face masks for Audrain County agencies and businesses. I cannot thank those ladies enough that spent hours of their time creating these works of love for our community!

We coordinated efforts with the Help Center and provided volunteers to them twice each week for their food distribution, as well as shut-in food delivery. A huge thank you to those folks that assisted with those efforts.

We have three new programs developed that focus on the following areas through the Uplift Clearinghouse: Budgeting, Career, and Housing.

With the development of these new programs, we’re going to be scheduling a training night very soon for any volunteers that are ready and willing to learn how to become a coach! Stay tuned for updates on when and where we’ll host that. Please let us know if you are interested in participating.

Even though we’ve been focusing on program development, we’ve been able to directly assist multiple individuals in need during this time with a variety of needs such as groceries, transportation, rent assistance, and developing a sustainable income.

Finally, we are searching for a place to call home. It is important for us to be able to provide a safe, productive environment for our coaches and volunteers to assist clients. Do you know of a space that we could use or rent? If so, please email us at contact@upliftmidmo.org.

We are so thankful to God for this amazing opportunity to minister to Audrain County residents, and we could not do it without our volunteers. If you’d like to get involved, click here to fill out our volunteer request form.

  1. I’m not much into volunteering, but your webpage and history of events that serve the community of Mexico through our Savior’s love touch me dearly.
