How we serve
Everything we do rests on three pillars

Our church and agency partners serve as the entry point for every interaction.
2. Personal relationships
We pair individuals with Christ-centered mentors who remove barriers and walk alongside them.
3. Skills for sustainability
Our 14-week Getting Ahead classes equip clients with the resources and confidence to thrive long-term.

Church and agency partners have a direct connection to refer people in need to Uplift Mid-MO and help build lasting relationships.
Caring Connections
One-on-one, Christ-centered mentorship in career, budget, housing, and resources, plus help with rent, utilities, and other expenses.
Educating the Community
Bridges Out of Poverty workshops for organizations and 14-week Getting Ahead classes for neighbors working toward stability.
Community Outreach
Blessing Boxes placed with partner churches offer free food and hygiene items, and each month we hand out hygiene items to families at the Vandalia Food Pantry.

Uplift helps Audrain County residents with rent, deposits, non-electric utilities, and unexpected costs. Help starts with a referral from one of our church or agency partners.

Our story
Uniting local churches around the same mission
Uplift Mid-MO was founded in 2019 by Kate Shaw, a lifelong Mexico, MO resident, after God placed unity in the body of Christ on her heart. Seven board members from Audrain County churches joined her. By the grace of God, Uplift obtained 501(c)(3) status in 2020, served over 500 people in its first five years, and hired Libby Landrum in 2021 to run its programs.
