Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Uplift Mid-MO (“Uplift,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit upliftmidmo.org, give to Uplift, fill out one of our forms, or otherwise connect with us. Uplift Mid-MO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry based in Mexico, Missouri.

The short version: we collect only what we need to serve our neighbors, respond to you, and run our ministry. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you contact us, submit a prayer request, sign up to volunteer, apply for a program, register for an event, subscribe to updates, or give, we may collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
• Anything you choose to share in a message or prayer request (prayer requests can be submitted without your name)
• Details you provide on program applications, such as information about your home for Heat & AC Assistance
• Your giving history (for example, gift amounts and dates) so we can send receipts and year-end summaries

Referral information. When a church or agency partner refers someone to the Uplift Clearinghouse, the partner shares information needed to understand and respond to that person’s situation, such as contact details, household information, income, and the need involved. We treat this information as confidential, use it only to serve that person, and limit access to Uplift staff and trained volunteers who need it.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours automatically collects basic technical information when you visit, such as your browser type, device, the pages you view, and approximate location based on your IP address. We use this to keep the site secure and understand how it is used.

2. How we use your information

• To respond to messages, questions, and prayer requests
• To provide our programs and services, including Clearinghouse referrals, Caring Connections mentorship, classes, and Heat & AC Assistance
• To process gifts and send receipts and acknowledgment letters
• To coordinate volunteers and events
• To send updates or newsletters you sign up for (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To keep our website secure and improve it
• To meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements

3. Donations

Online gifts are processed through Zeffy, our donation platform, and its payment processors. Uplift Mid-MO never sees or stores your full card or bank details. Zeffy’s use of your information is covered by the Zeffy Privacy Policy. We receive your name, contact information, and gift details so we can thank you and provide tax receipts.

4. When we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only:

• With service providers that help us run our ministry and website, such as WordPress.com and Jetpack (website hosting, forms, and statistics), Zeffy (donations), Mailchimp (email updates and volunteer sign-ups), Jotform (applications and event forms), Airtable (secure program records), and Google (calendar, maps, and analytics). These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us.
• With a church or agency partner when it is needed to coordinate help for someone they referred
• When required by law, or to protect the safety of a person

Prayer requests are shared with our prayer team. If you ask us not to share names, we will not.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar tools to keep it working, remember preferences, and measure visits. We may use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Some features, such as embedded videos, calendars, and maps, are provided by third parties that may set their own cookies.

6. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, or as long as required for legal, tax, and accounting reasons. Giving records are kept as required for tax purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

7. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including limiting access to staff and volunteers who need it. No website or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we have about you, or to stop sending you emails, at any time. Every email newsletter also includes an unsubscribe link. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. To make a request, email office@upliftmidmo.org or call (573) 212-8376. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Links to other websites

Our site links to partner churches, agencies, and community resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, so please review their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
