Uplift Mid-MO: Making a Difference in Our Community

In the face of increasing referrals and needs, Uplift Mid-MO, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving Audrain County communities, continues to step up its efforts to provide essential services and assistance to those in need. With the support of dedicated personnel, an expanding volunteer base, and an ever-growing network of church partnerships, Uplift Mid-MO has been able to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families facing challenging circumstances. In this blog post, we will highlight the remarkable achievements of Uplift Mid-MO in 2022, as well as some exciting events that have helped further our mission.

Addressing Rising Needs

Uplift Mid-MO has witnessed a surge in referrals and needs within our community in the last year. However, the organization has risen to the challenge, ensuring that no one is left behind. By increasing personnel hours and enlisting the support of dedicated volunteers, Uplift Mid-MO has been able to expand its services and assistance programs, providing much-needed aid to those in crisis. The commitment and compassion demonstrated by the Uplift team have been instrumental in uplifting the lives of countless individuals and families.

Expanding Church Partnerships

One significant development for Uplift Mid-MO is the doubling of its church partnerships in the last year. Currently, the organization proudly collaborates with 12 church partners across three Audrain County communities. This remarkable growth in community connections has allowed Uplift Mid-MO to extend its reach and impact. With 60% of our clients requesting to speak with a Christian pastor, the opportunities are great to share the love of Christ in our community. By working closely with local churches, Uplift Mid-MO can leverage resources, increase community engagement, and further strengthen its ability to serve those in need.

Increasing Assistance to Audrain Residents

Uplift Mid-MO’s commitment to making a tangible difference is reflected in the notable increase in assistance provided to Audrain County residents in 2022. In the third quarter of 2022 alone, the organization delivered nearly $5,000 in aid, surpassing the total assistance provided in all of 2021. The doubling of referrals from the first to the second quarter of 2022 underscores the growing recognition of Uplift Mid-MO’s invaluable services within the community. The organization’s unwavering dedication to supporting those facing hardship resulted in a total contribution of $13,300 to people in need in 2022.

Uplift Mid-MO Events: Rallying the Community

Uplift Mid-MO recognizes the importance of engaging the community through events that not only raise funds but also foster a sense of togetherness. One such event was the Uplift Mid-MO 5K color run held in June 2022. This event saw an impressive turnout of over 114 participants, including the participation of six churches and sponsorship from 25 local businesses. Through the collective efforts of the community, over $4,700 was raised, directly benefiting Audrain residents in need.

This year, the Color Run will be held slightly later on October 21, 2023.

Making a Difference, One Smile at a Time

Uplift Mid-MO’s commitment to holistic support extends beyond financial aid. In a heartwarming initiative, the organization distributed 1,000 dental kits at the trunk-or-treat event on the square for Halloween. By prioritizing oral health, Uplift Mid-MO ensured that children and families in the community had access to essential dental care resources, promoting overall well-being and providing an additional layer of support.

A New Chapter: Office Space Update

In November, Uplift Mid-MO took an exciting step forward by moving to a newly updated office space in the basement of their current building. This development not only provides a more efficient and functional workspace for the organization’s dedicated team but also symbolizes the growth and progress of Uplift Mid-MO. With the expanded capacity and improved facilities, the organization is poised to continue serving Audrain County with even greater effectiveness and impact.

In addition to its remarkable achievements in serving the community, Uplift Mid-MO is excited to introduce two new board members who bring their unique expertise and passion to further strengthen the organization’s impact. Mary Rohrbach and Bev Borgeson have joined Uplift Mid-MO’s board, adding valuable perspectives and skills to guide the organization’s future endeavors.

Both Mary and Bev share a genuine commitment to Uplift Mid-MO’s vision of uniting the local church community to share the love of Christ and empower individuals and families in Audrain County. Their diverse skill sets, combined with their passion for community service, make them invaluable assets to the organization’s board. Their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas will help Uplift Mid-MO adapt to the evolving needs of the community and continue making a significant impact.

In conclusion, Uplift Mid-MO’s ongoing dedication to addressing the needs of Audrain County residents is a testament to the unwavering spirit of generosity and compassion within our community. Despite the challenging economic climate and facility closures, Uplift Mid-MO remains steadfast in its commitment to providing essential services. However, none of this would be possible without the incredible support and generosity of community members like you. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of those facing adversity, and ensure that Uplift Mid-MO continues to be a beacon of hope for our community. Thank you for your unwavering support!
